Violent confrontation in Saegertown
WOODCOCK TWP. – A violent confrontation between police and an armed man in Saegertown over the weekend. Twenty-four-year-old Keith Daniel Scott allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and dog, destroyed his own home and threatened to kill himself, all while brandishing a knife, before violently resisting arrest and assaulting state cops.
State Police were at the scene Saturday night around 9:45, at Scott’s home on Horseshoe Drive in Woodcock Township. Police say Scott had beat up his girlfriend, and was tearing up his own home, throwing the kitchen stove outside and ripping the front door out of the frame.
Scott’s rage didn’t stop there. Police tell us he hit and kicked his dog before putting it in a cage, then threw out the cage with the dog inside. He then allegedly tried to hand himself and threatened to cut his wrists and throat.
Police were met by Scott carrying a knife and challenging them to shoot him. Troopers struggled to restrain Scott as he kicked, punched, bit and spat on them.
Charges for Scott include aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, cruelty to animals, harassment, disorderly conduct, and related crimes.
