Channellock reaches deal with union workers
MEADVILLE — Meadville toolmaker Channellock says it has reached a new two-year contract that covers its 262 union workers. Channellock’s Director of Workforce Development Mark Johnston says the union has approved the new deal, but he says he can’t comment on the terms. The United Steelworkers represent the employees at two plants in Meadville, but union officials haven’t commented either. Channellock has about 360 total employees, including non-union staff at both plants. The company makes pliers and other hand tools. The last contract expired on February 10th, but it was extended for negotiations.
