CONFESSION: Cochranton women confess to killing Brandy Rosine-Stevens
State police have found the body of a missing Beaver Township, Ohio woman at a rural Cochranton home, and the residents have admitted to the killing. State police in Meadville say 20-year-old Ashley Marie Barber and 18-year-old Jade Nichole Olmstead, of the 29-thousand block of Drake Hill Road in Cochranton admitted to their role in killing 20-year-old Brandy Rosine Stevens and burying the body.
Police say they found Stevens’ body in a shallow grave near the home during a criminal investigation carried out yesterday. The Crawford County Coroner exhumed the body and is expected to conduct a post mortem examination today.
Barber and Olmstead were arraigned in front of Judge Rita Marwood on charges of Criminal Homicide, Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Homicide, and Tampering with Evidence. Both were remanded to the Crawford County Jail and bond was denied, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Beaver Township police filed a Missing Persons Report on Stevens Saturday. Police say Stevens was friends with Olmstead and Barber. Family members said Stevens had left to visit Olmstead on Thursday, and hadn’t been heard from since.
